Male Hair Loss
85% of men sill suffer from some sort of hair loss in their lifetime. It can happen to a man as young as sixteen
or you might be lucky enough not to experience male pattern baldness until your into your fifties.
Once it starts it's hard to stop unless to take steps early.
There are many causes of hair loss ranging from mecical, stress right to inheriting it from the family. One of
the most common is DHT.
Testerone is harmless on it's own but if it joins up with the male enzyme '5-alpha reductase' it produces a
by-product called 'Dihydrotestosterone,' also known as DHT. This DHT can rise up and settle underneath the scalp
cutting off the blood supply to the hair folicle which causes it to weaken and eventually fall out. DHT targets the
scalp only. It doesn't effect any other hair growth on the body (I'm sure you'll be pleased to know!)
One thing to note that when it comes to inheriting hair loss, it can come from both the mother's side and the
father's side of the family but statictics show that it comes mainly from the mother's side.
If left untreated the follicle can go into a dormant state and eventually fall out and not grow back but if you
manage to notice the early signs of hair loss it can be stopped and in some cases, reversed.
